The Tower Bridge -- not London Bridge, as it is sometimes misidentified. London Bridge is now in the Arizona Desert. The British joke that the American who bought it thought he was getting Tower Bridge.

Some of the detail on the bridge.

The Tower of London is visible from Tower Bridge. It's really more of a castle than a tower.

Me in front of the Tower of London.

Inside the tower, home to the crown jewels.

A guard is always posted outside the door of the royal residence.

Traitor's Gate, where people unfit for the main entrance were brought into the tower. Then, off with their heads. Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey were among those who lost their heads there.

This field within the tower complex is home to the ravens. Legend has it that if the number of ravens in the tower falls below seven, the kingdom will fall. And the yeoman warders, the colorful characters who offer tours to the public, will lose their jobs. So they keep a spare.

Just my size.

One of the towers once served as the national armory.
