Czech Republic

Prague, the city of a hundred spires. I count at least 17 in this picture.
Approaching Old Town Square in Stare Mesto (Old Town).
The Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square. It puts on a show every hour and draws huge crowds. The 12 apostles appear in the upper windows as the skeleton, representing death, pulls a rope. At the end, a rooster crows.

The clock was completed in the 1400s. The town leaders were so impressed with its design that they blinded the man who created it. They couldn't have him building such a timepiece for another town, you see.

This may be why nobody has created a nice clock in Prague since, JMG.
