Another excursion we took, to Karlstejn Castle. It was about 40 minutes outside of Prague by train. The castle overlooks a little town.

The castle, built in the 1300s, was attacked many times over the centuries. Parts of the castle were seized, but never the main tower. It had its own fortifications and this wooden bridge, which could be burned when invading armies approached.
